East-West Arterial Draft Environmental Statement Public Consultation
January 13 – February 3 2025

The public is invited to review and comment on the DRAFT Environmental Statement for the Environmental Impact Assessment of the East-West Arterial (EWA) Extension from Woodland Drive to Frank Sound Road.

The DRAFT Environmental Statement has been developed by the project proponent, the National Roads Authority (NRA), in collaboration with the Environmental Assessment Board which includes representatives from the Department of Environment (DoE), Department of Planning, Water Authority – Cayman, and the Public Works Department.

The National Roads Authority has undertaken this Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed 8 miles (13 km) new roadway that starts at the end of Section 1 of the EWA (from Hirst Road to Woodland Drive), currently under construction, from the Woodland Drive/Agricola Drive Connector and travels east to a new intersection with Frank Sound Road. The Proposed Project also includes a series of new and improved roadways described as the Will T Connector. The results of the Environmental Impact Assessment studies are presented in the DRAFT Environmental Statement, which will inform the decision-making process.
